Levels of blues are always a staple for us in the Sheridan Sydney Design Studio.
Having said that， each season we look to runways and trend forecasting information for key seasonal colours.accent pillow case baby canvas housewares
For Autumn / Winter ’16 we have explored Atlantic blue tones throughout our collection. These blue tones were directly inspired by our design retreat trip to Tasmania where we traveled our most southerly tip’s coastline with its deep， inky ocean views.
Once we have decided on our key coloursaccent pillow case baby floor， we collect it in various textures and substrates to gain a better perspective on what designs will suit the colour.
Within print and pattern， it’s more of an organic process， looking at multiple colourways for each print.
Atlantic blue is a classic and versatile colour but can also be styled in a more contemporary setting.
We see the Atlantic blues as a vehicle for colour in surface texture. Our super soft lambswool Bligh Cushion can be styled with the beautifully tonal Winterflora bed， for a textured luxury. Atlantic tones can also create a more casual aesthetic.
Our Henshall Cushion paired with the chambray Reilly bed creates a lived-in luxe.
Atlantic tones can be carried through to the bathroom where the Quick Dry Luxury towel can be paired with the tactile Mentelle marled towel for unexpected textural interest.
I like to complement the inky tones in my home with wooden floor boards， indoor plants， chunky winter white knits and soft afternoon light.
