For my wedding, I am hoping to do a photo guestbook with an instant camera. Because I was having a hard time finding a fun, unique guestbookbaby pillow, I decided to make my own! I bought a burlap journal at Michael's for about $2.99 (with a coupon). Then I bought a few inexpensive decorative pieces and looted my craft drawer. This won't really be a step by step tutorial but rather a guideline for you to use. I think this is a great way to get creative without breaking the bank. Just by using what you have a home (if you're a crafty lady), you can create a fun, personal guestbook. Even if you don't have a personal craft studio, purchasing the materials?shouldn't cost very much at all. Here's a look at some of the things I used.

I decided that I wanted this to have a mixed-media flair so I decided to incorporate this lace I bought at Hobby Lobby along with these burgundy flowers. The lace really ties to my dress and burgundy is one of my main colors, so I thought it was a fun way to incorporate the guestbook into the overall look of the wedding.

I got these cool letter stamps at Michael's for $1.50 a piece and my mom just happens to have a decent amount of stamping supplies along with an heat gun. I decided to stamp our initials and emboss them with the heat gun to give it some pretty texture. I also layered some scrapbook paper to make a pretty cover piece.

I also took stamped throughout the journal just to make it more fun and interesting. I think it'd be cool to be stickers or bits of washi tape, etc. if you wanted to be even more creative with it.

Here's the somewhat finished product! I still need to find a way to put “;and”; between the initials. Anyone have any creative ideas?

This was a lot of fun and didn't take me more than an hour to complete. I think you can be as creative as you want with a project like this. I'm even thinking of adding a few things to it! ?? I hope you've enjoyed this and I'd love to see ways that you've gotten creative with your guestbook!

Have you jumped on the planner craze? If you have then you’re going to LOVE today’s tutorial featuring some DIY Planner Accessories perfect for Halloween. Amy from Ameroonie Designs created these cute Felt Halloween Planner Clips and is sharing a free pattern to make the planner clips.

On my most recent trip to IKEA I bought 4 Slan Pillows to use in my new bed set. They weren't very substantial but they were crazy cheap ($2) and my local IKEA was out of most of the mid-range quality pillows. So I bought four of them because I'm an idiot who thought that I wasn't picky about the size of my pillows.
